ETHICAL HEALTH-CARE
VISION
My heartfelt vision is a world where all beings remember their interdependence and live in harmony with nature. Through this remembering, I envision each person fulfilling their creative potential, radiating their unique gifts, and contributing to the whole. In this world of my dreams, we recognise Earth as part of ourselves and care for her as she cares for us in regenerative reciprocity.
MISSION
At Vessel, we use acupuncture and Chinese medicine to help you rediscover vitality, ease, and comfort in your body and the world. We cut through wellness propaganda to provide practical, evidence-based solutions tailored to your needs.
VALUES
Connectivity
I believe in the interconnectedness of all beings and the planet. I offer my services to help restore a healthful connection between the psyche, spirit, and body, so that we may move with ease toward even wider connection in community and beyond.
Inclusivity
I believe that the future arises through collective action, and I strive to widen access to my offerings beyond the limits imposed by personal wealth. I set aside a percentage of each fully paid session to fund a session of the same quality to someone for whom it would otherwise be inaccessible. With the knowledge that wealth is not evenly distributed, I also offer a sliding scale fee structure to ensure that my services are accessible.
Compassion
I believe in the power of compassion to awaken healing. I practice compassion for myself and others, recognising that without it, we face challenges alone. Through compassion, I aim to restore a felt appreciation and love for the natural world and to cultivate non-prejudiced, empathetic relationships with ourselves and each other.
Ease
I draw inspiration from the Taoist teachings of ease and believe that life can be an easeful experience. I aim to underpin my efforts with ease, achieving more with less effort, and accompanying my clients on an easeful journey to health and wellbeing.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Indigenous lands
I learn, play, work, and rest on Turrbal country in Meanjin (Brisbane). I visualise the times when dense rainforests, swamps, and bushland surrounded Maiwar (Brisbane River) and its creeks and tributaries, nurturing an abundance of human, plant, and animal life. I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea, waters, and community. I acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and I pay my respects to elders past, present, and emerging and extend that respect to all First Nations Peoples, worldwide.
Traditional medicines
I learn and practice a form of Traditional East Asian Medicine. An ancient traditional medicine to which I have no inherited cultural ties. I offer deep respect not only to the sages and philosophers of ancient times, and to those who captured the writings of classics to ensure the passage of wisdom through the ages, but to all East Asian people for whom this medicine is a birthright. I extend that respect to the holders of all traditional healing knowledge & practices on the continent of Australia and worldwide. May this wisdom be remembered & honoured.
